Organic Sustainable Baby Booties

So these are even more sustainable than ever! I made these toddler-sized booties from a pair of suit pants that were less than flattering since they had a tiny waist line and were heavy on the pleats. But, that is perfect, because the material was just beautiful and very durable.

Since I had so much luck on my houndstooth baby booties last year, I am at them again!!

Please check out these baby booties on Etsy...while they last!!

p.s. They are lined in 100% Organic Cotton this time around :)

(The other pair of baby booties, I sent to a photographer Trudy Holtz to hopefully have her model them on a cute little toddler!!

Sewing Since School....

Since I graduated (!!!), I have had a little bit more time to sew and catch up on things. Here are a few items I have been making.

Other exciting news, is that my friend Mary opened a shop in Carbondale. It is called Dayshift, and I am keeping a blog for the shop. Going in there is fun and inspirational too. I always leave feeling the need to sew more! My clothing items have been improving and going well too.

I will post images soon...

In the mean time, please visit Dayshift in Carbondale, IL. It is the coolest handmade boutique in Southern Illinois...

It is currently open, but there is a Grand Opening happening on this Saturday, August 22. Please stop by for a visit.

I am so super happy that the girl took the time to try them on her baby and take pictures of them. There are lots of fun pictures, so please please stop over to see the review on here on Green Baby Giggles!!

Treasuried!!

See it HERE for the next hour or so...

The Booties Featured are THESE ONES!!

Limey Summertime Memories

These sweet Limey Summertime Memories Booties sold super quick! Actually they sold the day I listed them. I had a lot of fun using the lime green eyelet material in addition to the yellow and white striped seersucker fabrics too. They are both so nice and lightweight. I used a nice sturdy denim on the outer solez. I also added these sweet suede patches to the bottoms, since these booties are for 12-18 monthers. Surely they are for walking babies, so I had to watch out for that.

See my shop HERE for more fun additions!!

Supple Leather Baby Sandals

So, I have had a few views on these new baby sandals. I love how they turned out. They were inspired by my very own new Mephisto sandals, shich are also very nice.

I love these little sandals!! I hope someone loves them enough to want to try them out... They are 100% suede/leather. It is nice and soft/supple too! These are size 0-6 months, and I can try making them bigger too. They have elastic around the openings too, and are breathable since the backs are open! These would be fun for a formal event, or for every day use. Check them out HERE.

So I am luckily able to turn my Happy Solez into my thesis project. I am going to redesign the packaging of my items in the Neighborhood Co-Op in Carbondale. I am super excited and of course a bit nervous too.

I am considering some packaging ideas and don't want to lose their pages...

OK, I am back to sewing

Slowly but surely, I am revamping my etsy site. And it feels nice! I am also bringing a bunch of goodies into the Co-Op tomorrow. I am so happy that the Co-Op shoppers are really seeming to enjoy my items there. I usually stock baby booties, zipper pouches, yoga pants, tote bags, aprons, reusable washcloths/dusters, and a few other assorted items. I love how conscious the store is to the green movement--well they always have been.

If you haven't been there, please take a visit! It is in the Murdale Shopping Center in Carbondale, IL. Also, the Murdale Farmers Market will be in full swing every Saturday morning from 8-12noon. What a lovely time!!

Goodbye Flickr

What used to be in this post? my lovely images from Flickr. But someone or something kicked me off of flickr without warning. So, I am no longer supporting flickr with my images, this is the second time I was deleted and it is really no fun at all, with all of the time that I spent collecting "favorites" and doing comments.

Goodbye Flickr!

OK, enough about everyone else...

So, I have a tendency to blog about everyone else, while I leave everyone in the dark about my very own creations sometimes. So, here is a what I have been up to lately. I have a SOLO Trunk Show at the Co-Op this Saturday, also Valentine's Day. I hope to get some good pictures of me at my table and the general setup. The area where I get to set up is so perfect it is just unreal. I have no idea what people are going to be interested in, but you never can tell from show to show what will do best. So I will wing it!! I have been making booties, zipper pouches, and some purses. I am also making Layla, the cool girl who I work with at the Co-Op something special, so I really hope she likes it! It is always nice to make more contacts locally. I am so super happy that I am able to be involved with the Co-Op community. I love it so much I just sometimes feel like giving my items away there! Maybe I will do a drawing this time...along with free Valentine's Day Chocolates I got the other day!! fun blogging brainstorming. Hope to see you there...
