Earth Day Baby Booties

Around Earth Day, I was asked to create a collection of eco-friendly baby booties for a woman in California. She owns Little Green Wagon, and now you can find my work at her shop!! I am so excited, since her shop looks absolutely adorable! I am hoping to also applique her logo onto some t-shirts and other goodies soon too!

New Everything!!

I have been doing a bit of shop re-vamping lately. I have been having some luck with my new-ish iPod cases. I use this amazing material for the bodies that is made from 100% Recycled Plastic Bottle Material! I love them. I can really get super creative with them too. And, this light tan color is quite charming!! I love using my vintage -repro cottons with it. These cases also fit my Point N Shoot Digital Camera too!

Organic Sustainable Baby Booties

So these are even more sustainable than ever! I made these toddler-sized booties from a pair of suit pants that were less than flattering since they had a tiny waist line and were heavy on the pleats. But, that is perfect, because the material was just beautiful and very durable.

Since I had so much luck on my houndstooth baby booties last year, I am at them again!!

Please check out these baby booties on Etsy...while they last!!

p.s. They are lined in 100% Organic Cotton this time around :)

(The other pair of baby booties, I sent to a photographer Trudy Holtz to hopefully have her model them on a cute little toddler!!

Sewing Since School....

Since I graduated (!!!), I have had a little bit more time to sew and catch up on things. Here are a few items I have been making.

Other exciting news, is that my friend Mary opened a shop in Carbondale. It is called Dayshift, and I am keeping a blog for the shop. Going in there is fun and inspirational too. I always leave feeling the need to sew more! My clothing items have been improving and going well too.

I will post images soon...

In the mean time, please visit Dayshift in Carbondale, IL. It is the coolest handmade boutique in Southern Illinois...

It is currently open, but there is a Grand Opening happening on this Saturday, August 22. Please stop by for a visit.

Green Baby Giggles Makes My Day

So, I sent a pair of the brown corduroy baby booties lined in 100% Organic Cotton. She was quick to review my booties, and I am ever so grateful. This really makes my day--no month!!! I am so super happy that the girl took the time to try them on her baby and take pictures of them. There are lots of fun pictures, so please please stop over to see the review on here on Green Baby Giggles!!

YAY!!!

The 100 Collection has been featured in a treasury :)-

Thanks again to the wonderful backyardprims. She must really have the know-how about getting a fun treasury spot too. She has been ever-so accommodating because this is the second treasury she has featured me in. I am so grateful too.
What a sweet person! I will have to send her something nice for being so great.

Thanks backyardprims!!

If you get a chance within the next few days, feel free to visit the treasury here and add your fun comment.

Treasuried!!

See it HERE for the next hour or so...

The Booties Featured are THESE ONES!!

Limey Summertime Memories

These sweet Limey Summertime Memories Booties sold super quick! Actually they sold the day I listed them. I had a lot of fun using the lime green eyelet material in addition to the yellow and white striped seersucker fabrics too. They are both so nice and lightweight. I used a nice sturdy denim on the outer solez. I also added these sweet suede patches to the bottoms, since these booties are for 12-18 monthers. Surely they are for walking babies, so I had to watch out for that.

See my shop HERE for more fun additions!!

Some Packaging Ideas

So I am luckily able to turn my Happy Solez into my thesis project. I am going to redesign the packaging of my items in the Neighborhood Co-Op in Carbondale. I am super excited and of course a bit nervous too.

I am considering some packaging ideas and don't want to lose their pages...

Woven Bamboo Box 4"square x 3.5"h (only $2 each)

Clear Top Hinged Tim Boxes (Super Reusable - This is the winner so far...)

Woven Larger Palm Leaf Boxes LARGE size (5-1/4"L x 5-1/4"W x 1-3/4"H)

Organic Green Woven Boxes 2-3/8"W x 2"L x 1-3/4" H

The Sea Themed Wooden Trinket Boxes
